For a research-intensive university, global reputation influences everything from academic partnerships and talent attraction to funding, rankings and recruitment.
Queen’s University Belfast produces outstanding research. Our goal was to give that research a marketing platform that could reflect the depth and quality of its expertise.
Building on our work developing the Queen’s institutional brand, we partnered with the strategic marketing team to ensure the University, their researchers and the real-world impact of their work were recognised by the international academic community.
The creative breakthrough came from an insight uncovered during our conversations with academics: when researchers heard perspectives from other disciplines, they naturally began connecting ideas, challenging thinking and discovering new possibilities. We recognised that the conversations themselves could be the most compelling way to communicate research excellence.
From this insight, we developed the Research to Reality roundtables, a series of filmed discussions bringing together leading academics, research collaborators and industry experts, hosted by experienced journalists and broadcasters.
The roundtables were designed to deliver far more than a series of films. Each in-depth conversation becomes the foundation of an integrated content ecosystem, with long-form video and audio podcasts supported by short-form social edits, typographic animations, digital advertising and targeted research content.
Now entering production for its eighth episode, Research to Reality has become a platform for showcasing the people, partnerships and ideas that are shaping the University's contribution to the world.
Since launching Queen’s University Belfast’s brand together in 2017, we’ve been proud to continue our partnership through campaigns championing its research and reputation.
