Citeline’s Pharma R&D Annual Review has become a highlight in the life sciences thought leadership calendar. As Citeline’s solutions have evolved, so has the scale of this flagship report. The 2026 edition examined 22,940 active drugs to provide in-depth analysis of the global clinical development pipeline and the campaign to promote it needed to match that scale.
Our challenge was to capture this scope with a creative campaign that could earn attention, simplify complexity and sustain interest across multiple content releases. For 2026, the theme was growth.
Our creative strategy captured this essence with a headline rooted in the reality of drug development. “From seed to scale” tells a story of transformation. The development pipeline is where ideas are planted and nurtured so that they can flourish when they reach real patients.
The metaphor could flex across early discovery, late-stage development, therapeutic areas, company pipelines and new launches, giving every piece of content a shared language without restricting the story it needed to tell.
Citeline’s murmuration device paved the way for a new nature-inspired brand visual. For this campaign, pollination became the foundation of the art direction, with a core animation created by London-based motion designer Marcel Piekarski that informed every static asset.
We put the Pharma R&D Review’s main authors at the heart of the campaign, producing a hero video that was deployed as the leading asset for driving traffic to our dedicated digital content hub.
Extending Citeline’s influence across the industry.
During the campaign activity cycle, Citeline recorded the Pharma R&D Review being referenced by leading media outlets including Bloomberg, Nature, Fierce Pharma, Fierce Biotech, BioSpace, PharmaVoice and China Daily.
We designed a campaign microsite to ensure that traffic was continually driving towards the latest content and audiences could access every strand of the Pharma R&D Review offering.
